The Society of Petroleum Engineers encourages its members to make presentations to students and civic organizations to educate them about the energy industry. Numerous myths exist about the oil and gas industry, perpetuated through the media, the Internet, and others. SPE believes personal contact can provide the facts.

SPE members who make an energy or career presentation to a school or student organization can provide a complimentary “Oil and Natural Gas” book for its library. Please email the following details to EnergyEd@Energy4me.org to request the donation.

  • Presentation date
  • School or group name
  • Grade level
  • Number of students
  • School’s shipping address with contact name (This is for our records. The actual book will be shipped to the requestor.)

SPE sections can requests books to donate to their local schools. Please, email EnergyEd@Energy4me.org with the following information to request the donation.

  • School names
